If you purchase a gun from someone who resides in the same state as you, an FFL is not required to ship the gun to you.
To get a gun from another state, you will have to work with an FFL licensee, who will be responsible for legally transferring the gun to you. Unfortunately, you will most likely have to pay for this service.
However, working with an FFL licensee in your jurisdiction is actually a good thing. You will have the peace of mind of knowing the entire transaction process is completely legit. The licensee will be familiar with all the local gun laws in your jurisdiction, which can vary considerably.
Websites that Sell Firearms
Many websites that sell firearms offer a network of FFL licensees across the country to which your gun can be shipped. This is not only convenient but may actually save you some money if the fee for FFL licensees' services are already set and or negotiated.
Payment Options
Google Pay, Apple Pay, and Paypal all explicitly prohibit the use of their service to purchase firearms and ammunition. Many other, less popular, payment services do as well.
Restrictive policies like these basically leave you with the less secure options of credit cards and money orders. Therefore, only purchase from sellers that you trust completely.
Reputable, licensed gun dealers are your best bet. But If purchasing from a private seller through a brokerage website, make sure to read the seller's reviews. Also, check to see if the broker guarantees the transaction.
